Exclusive Prescott/Prescott Valley event with all matches at Mountain Valley Park
For the second time in three years, Yavapai College is hosting the NJCAA Division I Men’s Soccer National Tournament beginning today (Monday). The 12-team tournament is held at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley. National semifinals will take place on Friday, November 17 with the national championship game scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18.
No events were scheduled for the East side (Sedona/Verde Campus) of the County.

The College says the celebration will feature information about community resources for veterans, a student art display, food, beverages, live music and a chance to read and reflect on the names of Arizona servicemen and women who have lost their lives serving their country in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Yavapai College is warning residents that scammers have acquired college owned phone numbers and are using them to make nuisance calls. Yavapai College chief information security officer, Sean Hagan, said: “It appears that someone was spoofing our telephone numbers and attempting to impersonate College employees. We are aware of five instances related to the scam so far. Given the design of the public telephone system, there’s not much we can do about it beyond collecting evidence and getting the police involved, which we are doing now.”
Charles Leon is a past member of the Yavapai College District Governing Board representing the West side of the County in old District #4.
